Dad Takes on Jelly Belly treats...
To view our last FHE just click on the little screen above and it will enlarge, trust me it is worth watching to the end...Jason was incharge of the activity so he took the Jelly Belly mystery flavors such as pear or buger; licorice or skunk spray; peach of vomit...ect. and put them on a plate. He handed out the same colors so you don't know what you are getting...he got the best one. Ha paybacks are great after he made such fun of me and my scary movie experience now I'm the one laughing!!!

I Am Legend...
Ok, I wouldn't normally do this, but I have been harassed about this all weekend. I figured if I don't get this over with, Jason will be doing impressions of me at every reunion. So in an attempt to take away his excitement and extreme delight in mocking me, I'm going to tell you about the stupid movie I saw....we rented the supposed, really good "I Am Legend" but let me tell you what happened. To set the scene you must know that I have not seen a scary movie for years. In fact, I used to love scary movies (not gross ones though). Like I said I haven't seen one in years and I didn't think that this movie would fit into that category or I probably wouldn't have seen it. It freaked me out. I think I spent most of it under the blanket with my eyes closed and my ears plugged with my fingers. This is very embarrassing, but hey it has been several years and this was freakin' scary. During one part (I wont say which cause I don't want to ruin it for anyone who likes scary movies) I was so scared that my body shook for what seemed like an eternity. (Jason likes to imitate that part over and over, especially in front of the kids.) So now you all know I am not a scary movie person anymore. I absolutely hated it and even dreamt about animals trying to eat me when I napped Sunday. My rating for "I Am Legend" is 10 thumbs down unless you like that sorta stuff then you'd probably love it. So my admission is not I Am Legend but "I AM Wimp" and proud of it.

Look At My Easter Eggs!
Luke is at an age that he is finally getting this Easter stuff:) It was really cute to see how excited he was to make the eggs different colors. These two eggs had names....Thomas (for Thomas the tank train) and McQueen (from the movies Cars, of course his favorite). Colton wrote the names on the eggs with wax crayon before they dyed them. They had fun, except Whitney who stormed out cause she didn't have an special egg holder, she had a spoon...It's so hard to please them all:) She joined us later and finished the last two eggs, by then everyone else was done and she had two special dippers to use. Pre-teen emotions here we come.

Bath Buddies...
Luke and Sarah are little bath buddies. They are so funny together. It reminds me of Colton and Whitney when they were little, in fact I keep calling them by the wrong names...oops. Luke is the frog towel and Sarah is the duck towel. They love baths, it's never a struggle to get them to take one:)

Soccer has begun...
Yes the season has begun. What a joy to once again lose all our Sat.'s for the next few months. They announced our games without much notice so I had V.T. already scheduled, thus Jason had the joy of spending the day from 8:30 am to 1:20 pm at the field. That's the result of more than on child playing soccer. I don't know what we'll do when Luke starts (well that's atleast a few years before he's five). Whitney's team won both games, Colton only had one game but they didn't win. He was disappointed. Luke had a good time just being outside, even though it was cold and muddy from the rain (they don't cancel games unless there is an electrical storm). It was a very muddy, wet day. Poor Jason almost got stuck since they play on old farming fields with ruts that turn to mud when it rains. What a mess the car was when he got home. Maybe next Sat. will be a nicer day to play!

Snow...NOT FOR ME!
Sarah wouldn't touch the snow to save her life. She could barely tolerate walking over it to get to dry ground!

Hello St. Louis!
It's been 3 months since Luke's last appointment with his diabetes Dr. He had great numbers, though we were nervous how the last 3 months would rate. He has figured out child locks, can open the fridge and climb cupboards; thus keeping food at bay is rather difficult. Many times in the last month he has come to me with food in mouth or runs to hide when I enter a room. Yes, he is sneaking food which sends his blood sugar high. Now we have to teach him to come to me when he wants something to eat so that we can give him food that wont affect his blood sugar, or I try to pick up on a time he may need a snack and offer something to him. It's not always easy to remember that.
To make the Doctor trip easier we drove up the 4 hours on Thursday and made a family activity out of it. Colton and Whitney were thrilled to miss school, swim in the hotel pool and then visit the St. Louis Arch the next morning. It turned out to be a good trip, though a very long day. We drove home that afternoon and then picked up a couple neighbor kids to go down to our Ward Pine Wood Derby. (we don't have enough scouts so we make it a ward activity and anyone can build a car and race:) The kids had a lot of fun. Colton was disappointed though, one of the Elders had taken a block of wood with a missing wheel and won the race every time. Colton was second. They learned a great lesson: It doesn't matter what you look like, you can be as plain as a block of wood with a missing wheel and still be a winnner!
